Do you take custom orders?

Currently, I am unable to take on custom design projects. I genuinely appreciate your interest and enthusiasm for my work! The truth is, I have a substantial number of project designs currently in progress and many more I am eager to begin. Additionally, I continue to have caregiving responsibilities that significantly impact my available time. Balancing these commitments means that I simply cannot fit custom designs into my schedule right now…Maybe in the future, you never know.

Is your shop a year-round seasonal shop?

Our creative journey at Egypt's Papers is deeply rooted in a shared passion for crafting autumn, winter, and holiday-themed decoupage and layered art, regardless of the season. This tradition began with my beloved Egypt, whose eyes would light up at the sight of paper cutouts, an assortment of ribbons and bows, and anything that sparkled or made a joyful sound. Her enthusiasm was truly infectious, and together, we created a world of festive artistry that transcended the calendar.

Now, as I continue this artistic endeavor, I feel a profound sense of honoring Egypt's memory. Each piece I create is a reflection of our shared joy and a tribute to the beautiful moments we spent together. I believe that by continuing to create and share what we loved, I keep her spirit alive within the art.

How long does it take to receive a Mystery Themed Parcel, Planner Advent Calendars, or any other made-to-order items?

All items that are listed as made-to-order parcels and items, each order has a production time of 7-10 business days (excluding weekends and holidays) and a processing time to prepare your order for shipping of 1-3 business days (excluding weekends and holidays). Do you have printables for sale?

No, I do not make or sell printables. As an artist, my focus and passion lie primarily in the intricate and tactile world of decoupaged collage and layered mixed media art. This dedication stems from a deep appreciation for the unique textures, depths, and narratives that can be created through the careful arrangement and bonding of various materials. I believe there is an abundance of exceptionally talented artists who specialize in designing and selling printables. I prefer to dedicate my efforts entirely to the art forms where my proficiency and passion truly lie. This allows me to continually refine my skills in decoupaged collage and layered mixed media, exploring new techniques and pushing the boundaries of these expressive mediums. I aim to create original, one-of-a-kind pieces that resonate with the viewer and showcase the unique beauty of physical, handcrafted art.

What supplies, materials, or printables do you use to achieve your creative art?

I use a combination of new and used papers, ephemera, and a variety of other materials. These include vintage finds, special stash items, and even hard-to-find and upcycled elements. All of these are cut, painted, and transformed into unique pieces. For our decoupage collage, layered art, and the hidden treasure within each piece. I also incorporate printables that are cut, manipulated by hand once printed, and then transformed with mixed media and other materials, all by hand, to make a finished piece.

At the core of my creative process lies a meticulous selection of materials, blending the charm of the past with innovative repurposing. I primarily utilize a diverse array of papers, ranging from brand-new stock, chosen for its crispness and versatility, to carefully sourced vintage finds, ensuring a rich texture, all chosen for their unique character and ability to add depth to each creation. Beyond paper, I hand-dye various materials, including natural fibers and specialty papers, to incorporate an eclectic collection of ephemera. This delightful assortment of transient paper items, I hope to transform each piece into a miniature story waiting to be discovered. The intention is to create a harmonious blend of old and new, where every element contributes to a cohesive and evocative artistic statement.

The material palette extends to include special stash items, which are often rare or limited-edition pieces I’ve collected, contributing an exclusive touch to each creation. I also curate new and used hard-to-find and upcycled elements. Every single one of these varied materials undergoes a transformative journey: they are meticulously cut, artfully painted, and thoughtfully manipulated by hand to become integral components of my distinct, one-of-a-kind art pieces.

For my decoupage collage and layered art, I further integrate high-quality printables. These printables are not merely pasted; once printed, they are skillfully cut and then intricately manipulated by hand. This hands-on approach allows for subtle folds, tears, and other alterations that add depth and character. Finally, these manipulated printables are then seamlessly blended with a variety of mixed media and other materials, all applied and arranged by hand, culminating in a richly textured, multi-layered finished piece.

Where do you get your printables?

I pay for the printables and the license to use them, either through a subscription or a one-time purchase from amazing artists! I do not receive any affiliate program benefits through any of these artists. To that end, I enthusiastically encourage you to explore their work further. I’ve included links to their individual shops so you can easily discover their full range of products and perhaps find new favorites.
